ImageKit speaks developer language

URL parameters, code snippets and developer docs. That's ImageKit's love language.

Dash speaks marketer: a simple, easy-to-use DAM that lets your team organise, share and use content without the learning curve.

Pricing

ImageKit’s bill is tied to your traffic

ImageKit charges on bandwidth, which is the data used every time a shopper loads one of your images. So a big launch or seasonal can push your bill up during your busiest months.

Dash is a flat monthly price from £79/$109 per month, with every feature and unlimited users included.

DAM should be standard, not an upgrade

On ImageKit, advanced search, sharing, access control and collections only unlock on the Pro plan and above. With Dash, every feature comes on every plan, including AI search, a native Shopify integration branded portals and guest uploads.

Easy to onboard

Free onboarding and migration support with Dash

Getting the most out of ImageKit usually means pulling in a developer. With Dash, free onboarding and migration come as standard, whether you're leaving ImageKit, Drive or Dropbox. No dev needed. Our team will move your assets across and help you set up a library that makes sense.

FAQs about ImageKit vs. Dash

How much does ImageKit cost?

ImageKit has four tiers, priced in US dollars. The free plan includes 20GB of bandwidth, 3GB of DAM storage and 2 users. Lite is $9 a month for 40GB of bandwidth, 10GB of storage and 3 users. Pro is $89 a month for 225GB of each and 5 users, with extra users at $9 each. Enterprise is priced on request. Go over your bandwidth or storage on a paid plan and you pay per GB on top.

‍

Is ImageKit worth it for an ecommerce brand?

If page speed is your top priority and you have developers to set it up, it's a strong pick. It scores 4.7 out of 5 on G2, and most reviews come from small businesses. If your team mostly needs to organise, find and share content, you may be paying for a delivery engine you won't use much.

‍

What are the best ImageKit alternatives?

Dash for growing ecommerce and DTC brands that want a simple, marketer-friendly DAM. Cloudinary for developer-heavy teams with complex media needs. Bynder or Brandfolder for large enterprises with complex governance.

‍

Is ImageKit free?

Yes, there's a forever-free plan. It's great for testing or a small site. But the 20GB bandwidth allowance resets monthly and is a hard cap, so image delivery stops once you hit it.

‍

Is ImageKit a DAM?

Partly. ImageKit is mainly a media optimisation and delivery platform with a DAM built in. It also offers a DAM-only plan for teams that just want to store, manage and share assets. On the main plans, advanced search, sharing, collaboration, access control and media collections start on Pro, while visual search and central audit logs are Enterprise-only.

‍

Is Dash a good alternative to ImageKit for DTC brands?

Yes! Dash is built for growing DTC brands. Your marketing and creative team get one simple place to store, find, share and reuse content. It comes with Shopify and WooCommerce integrations, branded portals for stockists, unlimited users, and a flat price that doesn't rise with your traffic.

Compare Dash to the rest ⚖️

Adobe vs. Dash

Adobe's Experience Manager isn't a silver bullet. If you're trying to do more complicated tasks, consider Dash.

Air vs. Dash

Air: a good option if you're all about content ops. However, pricing can ramp up quickly, and it falls down in key areas.

Brandfolder vs. Dash

An industry heavyweight good for big enterprise businesses. But for growing, more agile brands? Not so much.

Canto vs. Dash

It's interface can feel outdated and users report a steep learning curve, according to product reviews.

Frontify vs. Dash

Great for brand management teams, but Frontify might not meet requirements of the rest of your business.

MediaValet vs Dash

Marketers switch to Dash for the more transparent pricing, portals feature and the award-winning UX.
